Two More 2019 Concerts Announced at Fair Annual Meeting, Members elect three board members

Members also elect three board members at May 15 meeting

At the Alaska State Fair 2019 Annual Membership meeting, held at Raven Hall on the fairgrounds last night, we were pleased to announce two more concerts that will be part of the 2019 AT&T Concert Series: Slightly Stoopid on Thursday, Aug. 29, and Jeff Foxworthy on Sunday, Sept. 1.

At the meeting, Fair members also voted to elect three members to the Fair board of directors. Out of a pool of nine candidates, incumbent Stephen Brown, Aryne Randall and John Harkey were elected to serve three-year terms on the board.

Tickets to the following newly announced concerts go on sale to the general public Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m.:

Thursday, August 29: Slightly Stoopid. The Ocean Beach, California-based band, Slightly Stoopid, is known for their eclectic, genre-mashing sound and unique collaborations with other artists. Now in their second decade of making music, the group continues to create energizing, multifaceted music that has been described as “a spiritual bath of positive party energy.”

Sunday, September 1: Jeff Foxworthy. Jeff Foxworthy is one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country. Widely known for his redneck jokes, his act goes well beyond that. He is the largest-selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee and best-selling author of 26 books. He’s hosted or starred in five TV series and was also a part of one of the most successful comedy tours of all time, The Blue Collar Comedy Tour.

Starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 24, you can purchase tickets to see Slightly Stoopid and Jeff Foxworthy:

Slightly Stoopid and Jeff Foxworthy join the eight previously announced concerts: all-vocal country band Home Free on August 22, multi-platinum rockers Shinedown on August 23, hot country act Dustin Lynch on August 24, iconic classic rock band KANSAS on August 25, soul/rock/pop powerhouse Tower of Power on August 28, Celtic punk rockers Dropkick Murphys on August 30, platinum-selling country artist Cole Swindell on August 31, and distinctive singer/songwriter Elle King on September 2. Tickets for these shows are currently available on our website.

Once again, we’re offering the option to purchase concert tickets including Fair admission. The included admission is at a discounted price and good any day of the Fair. Concert tickets including Fair admission must be purchased by August 21. Concert-only tickets are still available for fairgoers who already have admission. Details on ticket options and pricing are available on our website. Convenience fees apply on all concert ticket purchases.
